WHIPPING OUT MY SUIT JACKETS AND FLATS

I’m headed to Ottawa… Yep, our nations capitol. They call us silly Canadians up here, yeah I’m looking at all you Americans :p but I’m excited to see our National Parliament and history. I have only been to Ottawa once, on a college road trip to Carleton four years ago where I had all of my money for the trip stolen within four hours of being there, went wild and got my very first tattoo at a dingy tattoo shop that I don’t even know the name off, and my silly teenage self blacked out in a restaurant bathroom.

That was four years ago, and really the only thing I have to go of off for Ottawa. This time however, I am going for much more moral and responsible terms. I am going for an International Conference on international governance, and sustainable development. The International Forum is help by World University Services Canada (WUSC), an organization to help educate Canadians and give education to refugees. Through WUSC hundreds and hundreds of refugees from all over the world have had the opportunity to get sponsorship to study at a partner university in Canada. The program is truly amazing.

So I am driving the long six hours with other committee members from Wilfrid Laurier University to attend this three day conference. I am super excited, and I’ll keep you posted on how 9 Laurier Students, five girls and four refugee student’s who are conveniently men, will survive through a three day conference, with only one bedroom, two beds, one bathroom and suit jackets with old flats.

For more information check out the WUSC website or click here for information on the International Forum

Was downtown the other night working on my night photos – check out some of the shots from Parliament Hill. Have a great time while in town!
