So instead of spending time writing papers and studying for upcoming exams (the joys of being a student!), I have been foolishly surfing. Sadly, no real waves were involved, but surfing the internet.
This is what I found so go be INSPIRED!
WORLD AIDS DAY.
The following information was taken from their website:
First began on December 1st, 1988 every year the first of every December is dedicated towards raising money, increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education.
This years World AIDS Day theme is “Universal Access and Human Rights”. Today, according to the UNAIDS estimates, there are 33.4 million people living with HIV and 2.1 million are children. Half of ALL the people who are infected by HIV are infected before the age of 25 and are killed by AIDS before they are 35.
6,000 children lose their parents every day to AIDS. That is 1 parent gone every 14 seconds. With a cure available why don’t we help support this cause and allow these children the privilege of knowing their parents.
I CHALLENGE YOU: To learn more about HIV/AIDS today. Spread the Word. Show Support.
