The Somali Pirates that normally have been a threat in the Suez Canal have started going lower and attacking various boats and small ships along the West Coast of Africa.
What does this mean for Semester at Sea? I guess my greatest concern would be when the MV Explorer while it treks 
across the waters from India to Mauritius, right through the very threatened area where the Somali Pirates will be. I haven’t heard much from the Shipboard’s Institute for Education or Semester at Sea themselves… which probably means it wont be as much a threat to us, or they could be suppressing the situation and allowing us to believe we are completely safe. Regardless, they changed our route initially so we wouldn’t go through the Suez Canal because of the threat the pirates put on us. Now there is still a threat, and a chance our ship might be hijacked.
